I am concerned that the Division of Planning & Development has approved a vaping shop at 651 N. McLean next to Dino’s Restaurant that will be located in a neighborhood that is primarily populated by elementary and middle school children, many of whom walk home after school from Snowden Middle School on McLean Blvd.

This will have an effect on the health and safety of the children who attend the school & may negatively influence their behavior.

VECA is asking that the City of Memphis consider a moratorium on smoke/vape shops in the city, as this location will be in close proximity to Snowden Middle School and is not appropriate. The Division of Planning & Development should reconsider this request and not approve this shop to be open in this location.
